State of Florida Armed G License Course:
This 28-hour course is mandatory to become an armed security guard in the State of Florida. The course will include a student handbook and classroom discussion about Florida statutes. Topics will include what a armed security guard can and cannot do legally, observation and report writing, firearms safety and firearms education. The student will learn basic and advanced handgun skills. This course will include a written state examination and a live fire range qualification (must shoot course 3 times). Student MUST pass both tests to the minimum state standards. Failure to pass either test will result in no certificate of completion. Student must repay and repeat training if course is failed. No refunds will be issued. You must attend all 28 hours of this course. Student must have successfully completed the state 40 hour unarmed security guard "D" course to attend.
*Cost $275 per student. Range Fees and targets included. Student must supply handgun, 150 rounds of ammunition, 3 magazines, duty style belt and magazine holder. (Student may rent gun and ammunition at an additional cost of $125.)
State of Florida Annual Re-qualification Course:
Don’t let your license lapse!! State of Florida G license holders are required annually to take a 4-hour classroom and live fire qualification course. In this 4-hour course, we will review laws, basic gun handling and safety. You will be given a 25-question written test and a qualification course of live fire on the range. Failure will result in student having to retake the 4-hour course and repay, or possible loss of license. No refunds will be given.
*Cost $175.00 per student. Range fees and targets included. Student must provide, handgun, 3 magazines, magazine holder, duty style belt and 150 rounds of ammunition. (Less ammunition will be needed if you qualify on first or second round)
